Urgent: Save Safe Streets and Roads for All Funding

The Senate has a chance to protect funding for bike lanes and safer roads. They need to hear from you.

This week, the Senate will be voting on a short-term extension of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Critically, this proposed extension strips out funding for a key program created in the IIJA: the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program.

Safe Streets and Roads for All has made $5 billion over five years directly available to local communities who want to plan for and build safer roads for people walking, biking, and driving. Thanks to its success as a program, the BUILD American 250 Act, the next transportation reauthorization bill proposed by the House, includes continuing SS4A.

The Senate resolution must include continued funding for SS4A. Without it, communities will not be able to access federal funding to build safer roads.
