Every two years, the League of American Bicyclists surveys and compiles data from all 50 states to create our Bicycle Friendly State ranking and report cards. In 2026, this process has shown us that many states are moving Bike Plans forward, that federal funding used for bicycling and walking projects continues to increase, and that more state Departments of Transportation than ever are promoting good guidance for safer bicycle infrastructure. At the same time, our first-ever public survey reveals widespread dissatisfaction with the state of bicycling and state efforts. In this webinar, we’ll provide an overview of what our new ranking has found and hear from states where progress is being made.
